What is EatTaipei all about?

Enjoy eating and drinking in Taipei, Taiwan – and have fun sharing your feasting experiences here!

Who are we?

My wife and I (hi, I’m Dave), from Singapore, Asia.
Together, we travel Taipei Taiwan; eat and drink there – then share fun reviews of what we had with you here. :-)

What privileges we have to eat and review Taiwan?

Any privilege as in that, we get paid to eat and review here? No such privilege for us! Sigh..
Instead, this is how we work:

1. We visited. We toured a location in Taipei, Taiwan.
2. We discovered. Felt to try a local food or drink. So..
3. We tasted! We dined – just like you or any Taiwan traveler would.

A real advantage though: We are Chinese Singaporeans. So Chinese cuisine in Taiwan is much familiar.

Any problem touring and eating Taiwan then?

Real travel eating problems we do have 2 big ones (!):

1. My wife is allergic to certain Chinese herbs.
We check each Taiwanese herbal soup or dish carefully! If not.. Kaboom! We’ll have a jaguar (massive rash breakouts!) with very puffy eyes – and needing urgent medical attention! ;-)

2. I travel with a fragile gastrointestinal system.
At home and in travel, I eat: No dairy or innards. Low in greasy, buttery, sourish ingredients. Moderate in coffee, chilli spices, honey, hard-to-digest foods like glutinous rice and etc..

But we press on. Eat we still will – and share with you here! :-)
